Happy birthday, Dr. King. I have mixed feelings about publicly celebrating your birthday. I think too many people see it as an extra ski holiday. I want people to take it seriously, but then I get uncomfortable when I see certain people appropriating your words. Maybe "hijacking" is a better way to describe what they're doing. Whenever Republicans have the nerve to quote you, it makes me want to scream. I know that you'd see what they're doing as wrong, wrong wrong.

At any rate, thanks for being the closet thing to a saint that we Americans have. Hopefully, this uncomfortable day will ensure that you have a legacy in years to come.
