As Ray and I lay around this morning reading the Sunday paper, he asked me what I thought of gay marriage, a topic which is burning up the press these days, especially here in San Francisco. We both agreed that we don't care what it's called as long as same-gender couples can have the same rights as a unit that hetero couples have under federal, state, and local laws. If conservatives want "marriage" defined as a sacred union between a man and a woman, fine. Just make sure that civil unions or domestic partnerships have the same legal status and we'll all be cool - and equals.

Whatever happened to the separation of church and state, anyway? !Dios mio!
