Va Va Voooom!

Last night Ray and I had a great time checking out the Va Va Voom Room burlesque show, running locally at the Plush Room (which would be a great performance venue for yours truly).

In an age where we're bombarded by in-your-face sexual explicitness (not that I mind some of it - *wink*) and comedy that pushes way past the boundaries of good taste, Va Va Voom was wonderfully engaging without being mean-spirited or uncomfortable. It was a rarely-seen blend of eroticism and class.

Special "right on" applause to Harlem Shake, the only African American burlesque troupe in the country! Shake it sistahs (Alotta Boutte, founder Simone de la Getto, and Leetha Hips)!! Check out the show, and as Miss Astrid, the deliciously wry mistress of ceremonies would say, "Applaud very loudly."
